Examples of School Challenges
Sophia is a second-grader who is struggling to read. Her parents tried to get an IEP, yet the school denied evaluations, saying she needed more time for interventions to work.
Sophia Difficulty Reading
Aiden, who has ADHD and a math disability, keeps getting detention for misbehaving in middle school and being removed from math class. His parents want his 504 plan turned into an IEP and need a Behavioral Implementation Plan.
Ryan Math Disability & ADHD
Jackson’s IEP team tells his parents he needs a self-contained class to get extra support for autism-related behaviors. His parents want him to be in kindergarten and to try out the least restrictive environment in the general education classroom first.
Jackson Autism
“Stories like these are why I have become an advocate. I want to help families better support their children. Identifying children’s disabilities and meeting needs early is vital to their future well-being.
